Dr. Elena Jubete, Business Development Manager European Programmes

CIDETEC Surface Engineering

Elena holds a BsC in Polymer Chemistry (University of the Basque Country) and a PhD in Materials (Manchester Metropolitan University). With 23 years of research experience, she excels in securing grants and fostering European collaborations. She is currently serving as member ECP4 Executive Board, evaluated advanced materials for EISMEA, HADEA & CBE, and advised the EESC. She represents CIDETEC in multiple EU initiatives and is part of the IAM-I partnership board.

 

Willem Uyttendaele, MSc, Researcher Coating & Finishing Technologies

Centexbel

Willem obtained his Master's in Chemistry with specialisation in polymer chemistry at Ghent University. For 7 years, he has been a researcher within the coating and finishing division at Centexbel, the Belgian knowledge center for the textiles and plastics converting industry. His research targets digital printing and the use of bio-based materials for printing, coating, finishing, and dyeing of both textiles and packaging.

 

Dr. Jérôme Gavillet, Senior Policy Officer

IAM-I

Jérôme holds an engineering degree from INSA Lyon and a PhD from École des Mines de Nancy. After seven years in microelectronics, he joined CEA in 2005, securing 10 patents and publishing 40+ papers. As a program manager, he led EU projects in materials, energy, and ICT, contributing to 50+ funding proposals. He has represented CEA on the OE-A board since 2019 and joined EMIRI in 2022 to support IAM4EU under AMI2030. In 2025, he became a senior policy officer at IAM-I, managing the IAM4EU partnership.

 

Maria Teresa Scrivani, R&D Project Manager Industrial Research and Innovation

Proplast

Maria Teresa holds a Chemistry degree from the University of Genova. She has worked in polymer companies (Basell Polyolefins, M&G Polymers) as an R&D project manager in polymer synthesis, formulation optimization, and application development. At Proplast, she manages applied research projects on thermoplastic polymers, focusing on new materials, recycling, properties optimization, and industrial scale-up. She has co-authored seven scientific papers and a patent. She has contributed to projects such as Frontsh1p, Plasticircle (H2020), Light-Pet (LIFE+), Reciplast (FESR), and PackAlliance (ERASMUS+).

 

Dr. Skander Mani, R&D Recycling Program Manager

IPC

Skander holds dual PhDs in Chemical Engineering (Laval University, Canada) and Innovative Materials (Lyon University, France). With 15 years of experience in industrial development and circular economy, he has led key initiatives in plastics recycling. As Recycling and Circular Economy Program Manager at IPC, he developed pilot lines for recycled materials and plastic packaging certification, accredited by Plastics Recyclers Europe. Previously, at Plastic Omnium, he managed ELV plastic waste recycling, leading to the patented "Greenlene" material.

 

Dr. Jan Diemert, Deputy Department Manager

Fraunhofer ICT

Jan studied mechanical engineering at the Technical University of Aachen, Germany, and specialised in polymer processing technology at IKV. Since 1998 he has been working in the Department for Polymer-Engineering of the Fraunhofer Institute for Chemical Technology ICT in Pfinztal, Germany. Since 2003 he has been Deputy Director of the Department for Polymer-Engineering, which works with 120 people on a broad range of polymer processing topics. Since 2011 he has been a funding member and currently vice president of ECP4. Nowadays his core activity is the organisation of international networks, EU projects, and the promotion of advanced polymer processing technologies.

 

Oscar Salas, Horizon Europe Coordinator

Gaiker

Oscar holds a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry and a Master’s in Business Administration. With over 25 years of experience, he has been engaged in managing sustainability research projects for both public institutions and private enterprises. His expertise spans a wide range of areas, including industrial waste minimization, separation processes, and waste recycling technologies. He has also led initiatives for LCA and eco-design, helping organisations develop sustainable solutions that reduce environmental impact while enhancing efficiency.

 

Dr. Ferran Martí Ferrer, Head of Research, Development, and Innovation Department ​

Aimplas

Ferran holds a PhD in Polymer Science from the University Polytechnic of Valencia, working in AIMPLAS as Head of Research, Development, and Innovation department since 1998. He has more than 30 years of expertise in plastic materials, their processing technologies, and different recycling technologies in many industrial sectors. Since 2000, he has been involved in the preparation of more than +150 European and internationally funded projects related to plastics from, among others, renewable resources, advanced materials, nanomaterials, and recycling. He was a speaker at many congresses, and seminars at the international level. He has several publications and international patents.

 

Prof. Ing. Vladimír Sedlařík, PhD

Tomas Bata University

Vladimír is a polymer science expert specialising in recycling and biomass valorization at Tomas Bata University in Zlín, Czech Republic. He served as the university's rector (2018–2022) and currently coordinates the National Competence Centre of Polymer Materials and Technologies. As director of the Centre of Polymer Systems, he leads research in sustainable polymer development, supports the national plastics and rubber industry, and fosters international collaboration. His work focuses on advancing polymer science through research, technology transfer, and scientific training for academia and industry.

 

Dr. Manis Gheghiani, Lab Manager and R&D Engineer in Industrial Analysis and Digitalisation

Axel’One

Manis is an engineer in industrial analysis and a Doctor in industrial analysis and process engineering from Claude Bernard Lyon 1 University (UCBL). Currently a lab manager at Axel’One and also R&D engineer in industrial analysis and digitalization in Axel’One Analysis since 2021. Working on topics about spectroscopies, chemometrics, and digitalization with application in the field of polymers on batch, continuous, and extrusion processes.

 

Adèle Seguin, MSc, Polytronics & European Services Manager

Polymeris

Adèle graduated from CEFAM with a MSc Manager of International Organizations and had her first experience in communications and digital marketing in Hanoi, Vietnam. Wishing to retrain, she then graduated from The Nuum Factory with an MSc Executive Digital Manager. Adèle joined Polymeris in February 2023, where she is in charge of managing the European project Polytronics and developing European services for the members.

 

Roxane Girard, International Partnership Coordinator

Polymeris

Roxane holds a master’s in European affairs from Lyon Political Sciences Institute. She began her career as an economic attaché at the French Embassy in Iceland. She then coordinated the Enterprise Europe Network (EEN) at the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes, also serving as national communication correspondent for EISMEA. Since September 2022, she has been European Affairs and Inter-Clustering Projects Manager at Polymeris, where she develops International Partnerships to support members’ European and global projects.

 

Joseba Bilbatua, Senior Manager Innovation & Technology

Mondragon Corporation

Joseba leads Advanced Manufacturing projects at MONDRAGON Corporation. He holds a Physics degree from the University of the Basque Country and a Master’s in Advanced Manufacturing Technologies from the Engineering School of Bilbao. Active in European manufacturing and materials initiatives, he is a board member at EFFRA, MANUFUTURE, EIT-Manufacturing and ECP4. In January 2025, he joined the IAM-I Executive Board. He coordinates MANU-KET, leads the EUREKA! SMART Cluster (2018–2022), and represents Spain on the CEN/CENELEC committee for Digital Product Passport standardization.

 

Jane Gardner, Managing Director

ERFMI

Jane Gardner is the Managing Director of the European Resilient Flooring Manufacturers' Institute, ERFMI, based in Brussels. ​ She has over 15 years of experience in sustainability and waste management and specializes in advocacy, association management, and resource efficiency. Jane has previously led consulting services at Axion Group and managed Carpet Recycling UK and set up a number of collection schemes in the waste sector.

ECP4, The European Composites, Plastics and Polymer Processing Platform is an industry-driven collaboration that unites 25 members from 13 countries amongst the top-level European research institutions, regional plastic clusters, and EU-level industrial organizations of plastics and composites converters.

ECP4 brings innovation partners together to identify opportunities for collaborative Research and Development efforts which yield industrial innovation.

The objectives of the platform are:

  • To provide networking and collaboration among research institutions and the industry.
  • To facilitate the access of the European plastics industry to EU research programs, thus enabling SME’s to innovate, gain competitiveness and fulfil sustainable goals.
